Psi Agora Table Host Signup Form

The Psi Agora

The Psi Agora is a monthly online event organized by the Parapsychological Association opened on the 5th of each month (11am Eastern) for members of the PA and invited guests to gather for conversation around a selection of "table" topics. The objective is to replicate, in a virtual platform (Airmeet), some of the social dynamics that happen at conventions or other consciousness-related gatherings, which have helped to nourish innovation and collaboration.

Table Host

The role of the Table Host is to create a space for a small group discussion (15 people or less) on a particular topic. The result is often something between a poster session and a casual "convention hallway" conversation. Table Hosts sometimes give short presentations, or they simply come with a handful of discussion questions. Sometimes it is a mixture of both.

As a Table Host, you are asked to:

  • Arrive 10 minutes before the event starts and sit at your designated table.
  • Moderate the discussion at your table and be prepared to provide insights or new arguments if the discussion runs stale.
  • Try to give the word to every attendee so they feel included in the conversation. (Note that attendees will often move around to different tables and this practice of "table-hopping" is something that we encourage.)
  • Stay at your table for at least 90 minutes (afterwards, you are welcome to remain there, hop to another table, or leave the event).
  • Provide feedback of your experience when the event is over.
