Laurence Browne has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Queensland, where until the end of 2024 he was an Honorary Research Fellow with the School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry. The title of his thesis, which was awarded in 2014, is 'Examining Coincidences: towards an integrated approach'. In 2017, an expanded version of this was published by Imprint Academic of Exeter, U.K. as 'The Many Faces of Coincidence'. Laurence lives in Brisbane with his wife and has more recently been engaged in writing about Japanese Buddhism, inspired by several visits to Japan and its many temples in recent years
