Fear of Psi – Views, Perspectives, Considerations
There is a long-standing conversation in parapsychology about the “fear of psi.” While much attention has focused on skepticism in science, fear may also arise at the personal, cultural, and even legal levels.
On March 28, 2026 (10:00am–5:30pm Eastern), leading scholars will gather for a full-day symposium exploring this complex phenomenon from multiple perspectives — psychological, historical, neuroscientific, anthropological, and jurisprudential.
Featured speakers include Annalisa Ventola, Jim Carpenter, Garret Yount, Paul H. Smith, Julia Mossbridge, Anna Ozhiganova, and Gerhard Mayer.
Topics range from ontological shock and exceptional experience to nonspeakers’ psi capacities, Soviet-era perceptions of paranormal phenomena, and the implications of psi for modern legal systems.
We invite you to join us for what promises to be a thoughtful and substantive exploration of one of parapsychology’s most enduring and consequential themes.
